Behind the Writing: Part VII, Lord of Columbia, Northern Knights Synopsis

One Hero’s Fight for Freedom

We’re all excited for Lord of Columbia. Today is the actual book description for the work, which will be released in just a few short days on Amazon (and open-published in a few short months). I’d previously listed September 1st as the release date, but I’m going to do something few do, and release it even earlier than anticipated with an early-August release date! In other words, we’re bumping up the release date.

This is due to the editing process occurring faster than I’d anticipated and the countless hours of making this book description. So, without further ado, here’s the official description for Lord of Columbia: Northern Knights.

One Hero’s Fight for Freedom

Cain Riscattare never thought he’d lead the South Columbian colonies in their battle against an imperial police state known as the Southpoint Empire.

A college athlete gifted in sports and controlling the classical elements, Cain’s only concerned with becoming a pro athlete and living a life of luxury. But when a military draft threatens Cain’s freedom and athletic career, he’s cornered into either fighting for Southpoint or fighting against them.

When Southpoint soldiers and law enforcement raid South Columbia to round up any potential draft dodger, Cain and his college teammates spark a rebellion using their element-control abilities.

Now fugitives, Cain and his friends flee South Columbia to the unoccupied region of North Columbia, where they undertake their senior year at Summit University.
Upon discovering several rival students are working undercover as Southpoint spies in North Columbia, it’s a matter of time before Southpoint advances northward.

As open warfare erupts in South Columbia, Cain and his friends balance athletics while working with top North Columbian leaders to defend the land from Southpoint invasion.
Will they succeed in keeping Southpoint from overrunning the North?

Northern Knights is the first book in the new adult, urban fantasy series Lord of Columbia. If you like modern-fantasy, open warfare, liberty versus tyranny, and a diverse cast of compelling characters, you’ll love Cain’s incredible journey from athlete to rebel as he battles for his peoples’ fate…

So, I hope you all enjoyed my little description blurb on my debut novel, Northern Knights, Episode One in the Lord of Columbia series.

I’ve had a lot of fun writing the work, and despite the long hours in front of the computer, it never once felt like work; it came natural. All of the writes, rewrites, revisions, edits, blurbs, and other elements going into this work surely paid off.

In the coming days I’ll write about my experiences and I’ll be more than happy to share with you all what to do and what not to do when it comes to writing your debut novel. After Northern Knights has been in circulation for a few months, I’ll look back and write about my first experiences in selling the work, and once more, what to do and what not to do.

It’s only the beginning of an amazing journey which I’m glad you’re all a part of. And I’m a rookie indie-author, pursuing his passion as I encourage each and every one of you to do. Yet, many of us happen to be in that flux of working in a job we’d rather do without and are pursuing on the side, in our very early stages. It’s why I started My Freedom Flame six months before my published work even hit online store shelves; to go on this journey with you and document my progress.

That’s all I have for today, so keep on pursuing your passion and I’m excited to see what’s in store for all of us. I’d like to thank all of my readers for coming across My Freedom Flame, please come back soon.
